Second MRI puts Perkins at ease

MINNEAPOLIS -- A second MRI on the shoulder of Minnesota Twins left-hander Glen Perkins has revealed no structural damage. Perkins said Thursday that the exam showed that he has a strained rotator cuff, an injury that will not require surgery. He was placed on the disabled list retroactive to Aug. 9. He says it was a relief to know that he will not need surgery and can now concentrate fully on pitching without having to risk a more serious injury. Perkins is 6-7 with a 5.89 ERA and was move ...
