ESPNChicago.com Thursday, August 13, 2009 CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs are sending right-handed pitcher Jeff Samardzija to Triple-A Iowa and calling up Justin Berg. Samardzija lasted just 3 1/3 innings on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies, giving up seven earned runs on eight hits as the Phillies won 12-5. The former Notre Dame All-America wide receiver is 1-2 with a 7.81 ERA.
