Tuesday, August 11, 2009 PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks released right-hander Tom Gordon, one of four pitchers in major league history with 135 victories and 155 saves. Gordon had an injury-plagued season. He started off on the disabled list after having offseason elbow surgery and spent only a week with Arizona before suffering a severe hamstring injury in a May 3 game at Milwaukee that forced him back on the disabled list.
