Saturday, August 8, 2009 FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Jessica Hardy won the 50-meter freestyle at the U.S. Open Swimming Championships on Saturday, narrowly edging Lara Jackson. Hardy finished in 24.90 seconds, with Jackson at 24.93. It was Hardy's third medal of the week. Samantha Woodward placed third with a time of 25.29. Hardy broke the world record in the 100-meter breaststroke on Friday night with a time of 1:04.45.
