Friday, August 7, 2009 SAN DIEGO -- Everth Cabrera is showing why the San Diego Padres have been so highly touting their rookie shortstop. Cabrera hit a ninth-inning grand slam off closer Francisco Rodriguez to lift the Padres to a 6-2 victory over the New York Mets on Friday night. Cabrera's first grand slam capped a five-run inning off Rodriguez, who failed to get an out. "That was a great at-bat against a premier closer," Padres manager Bud Black said.
