Devils sign Shanahan to one-year deal

NEWARK, N.J. -- Brendan Shanahan is back for another season in the NHL. The 40-year-old forward signed a one-year deal with the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday, keeping him with the team that drafted him second overall in 1987. Financial terms were not disclosed. Shanahan will be entering his 22nd NHL season, after rejoining the Devils in January and recording six goals and eight assists in 34 regular-season games.
