ISTANBUL -- Third-seeded Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain beat wild card Pemra Ozgen of Turkey 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Istanbul Cup. Ozgen was making her first appearance in the second round of a WTA Tour tournament. Medina Garrigues is to meet fifth-seeded Vera Dushevina of Russia in the quarterfinals.
