Rezai, Govortsova reach second round

ISTANBUL -- Fourth-seeded Aravane Rezai of France and No. 7 Olga Govortsova of Belarus advanced to the second round of the Istanbul Cup on Monday. Rezai beat Viktoriya Kutuzova of Ukraine 7-6 (3), 6-2 and Govortsova edged Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 at the clay-court tournament.
