Lannan throws first career shutout as Nationals blank Mets

WASHINGTON -- John Lannan threw his first career complete game the last time he faced the New York Mets and remembered that start so well he didn't need any video reminders as he prepared to face them again. This time he did even better, throwing his first career shutout, scattering seven hits in the Washington Nationals' 4-0 win against the anemic Mets on Tuesday night.
