Thursday, July 2, 2009 ESPNChicago.com is reporting that Cubs left-hander Neal Cotts had elbow ligament surgery on Thursday night. Cincinnati-based surgeon Timothy Kremchek performed the surgery. "I just got out of surgery and everything went well," Cotts told me via text message. Elbow ligament replacement surgery -- commonly known as Tommy John surgery -- is completely successful for a high percentage of players who have had the operation in the past.
