Wednesday, July 1, 2009 SAN DIEGO -- Adrian Gonzalez was in the starting lineup for the San Diego Padres a night after straining his right knee while sliding into third base. The first baseman said he convinced manager Bud Black that he was OK to play against the Houston Astros on Wednesday night. "Buddy came in the training room and I ran around the training room and showed him I can play," Gonzalez said.
