ESPN.com Wednesday, July 1, 2009 The Atlanta Thrashers have acquired veteran defenseman Pavel Kubina and Tim Stapleton from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Colin Stuart and Garnet Exelby. Kubina, a 2004 All-Star, has one year left on his deal at $5 million. Kubina had become injury-prone in recent years, but played a full 82 games in 2008-09 for the first time since the 2001-02 season. He bolsters a young defensive corps in Atlanta that boasts 2008 third overall selection Zach Bogosian and 24-year old Tobias Enstrom. ... Activate your ESPN Profile!
