ESPN The Magazine Thursday, June 25, 2009 A little less than two weeks ago, NASCAR chairman Brian France admitted that his sport would be open to welcoming more foreign automakers into stock car racing, especially "foreign manufacturers now producing cars here in America." It took all of five minutes for my ESPN.com inbox to be filled with cries of outrage, mainly from the greater Detroit area, the very region from which France had made his comments.
