LSU inches closer to sixth national title

OMAHA, Neb. -- LSU is three outs away from winning its sixth national championship and first since 2000. The Tigers added a run in the eighth inning on Ryan Schimpf's sacrifice fly, giving them a 10-4 lead over Texas in the deciding game of the College World Series championship series at Rosenblatt Stadium. The Tigers' sixth national title would tie the Longhorns for second on the all-time list. USC has won 12 national championships.
