Thursday, June 18, 2009 MOSCOW -- Russia will be without their top player Nikolay Davydenko in next month's Davis Cup quarterfinal against Israel, team captain Shamil Tarpishchev said on Thursday. Tarpishchev said he had allowed world No. 11 Davydenko to miss Russia's first two ties in this year's competition. The top-ranked Russians, who beat Romania 4-1 in the first round in March, drafted former world No. 1 Marat Safin, ranked number 23, Igor Andreev (25), Dmitry Tursunov (27) and Mikhail Youzhny (44) for the July ...
