One of the questions heading into this game was if Southern Miss would pitch around Dustin Ackley. We didn't find out in the first inning because the Golden Eagles didn't get a chance to. J.R. Ballinger walked Ben Bunting to start the game, vanishing any thoughts of walking No. 2 hitter Ackley in the first.
