Scheduling is not an art, and it certainly is not a science. It involves some skill, to be sure, but, c'mon, it's not exactly writing the algorithm for Google. A school has to find 12 opponents and has 14 weeks in which to play them. Not only that, but only the three independents -- Army, Navy and Notre Dame -- have to find all 12 opponents themselves.
