ROYALS DEAL GLOAD TO MARLINS (10:31 p.m. ET) The Kansas City Royals traded first baseman Ross Gload and cash to the Florida Marlins on Wednesday for a player to be named. Kansas City also optioned right-hander Brian Bannister to Triple-A Omaha and released right-hander Joel Peralta. Left-hander John Bale, who is recovering from thyroid surgery, was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27.
