It's bad enough to give up 53 points in a single half. Then consider that Maryland, fresh off an offensive demolition of Cal, went into the locker room midway through its second-round game against Memphis knowing that to overcome a 20-point deficit, it would have to post some major numbers against the best defensive team in the country.
