Thursday, March 5, 2009 It was a night of head-scratchers. The number of teams moving down or out of the bracket was staggering on Wednesday. Consider: • Purdue: The Boilermakers had a clear path to second place in the Big Ten. Instead, they lost at home to Northwestern and also lost a top-four seed. • LSU: The Tigers were sitting pretty (and still are) in the SEC.
