HOUSTON -- Aubrey Coleman had 12 points and 12 rebounds and Houston closed with a 15-2 run to beat Rice 56-51 Saturday. Down 49-48, Coleman made a jump shot at the 2:28 mark, then added a layup about 20 seconds later to give the Cougars a 52-49 lead. Houston (18-9, 9-5 Conference USA) made four free throws down the stretch against one layup from the Owls (9-19, 4-10). Nick Mosley had 11 points and nine rebounds for Houston.
