Saturday, February 28, 2009 SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Brian Bannister retired all six San Diego batters he faced Saturday in his spring training debut, and the Kansas City Royals and the Padres played to a 2-2 tie after 10 innings. Jose Guillen and Ross Gload homered for the Royals while Adrian Gonzalez and Cliff Floyd hit back-to-back RBI doubles off Luke Hochevar in the fourth for the Padres.
