DEKALB, Ill. -- Sean Smith scored 20 points to lead Northern Illinois to a 56-55 Mid-American Conference win over Ball State Saturday afternoon. Darion Anderson had 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists for Northern Illinois (10-17, 5-9). Ante Dzepina chipped in 10 on 3-of-3 shooting, including eight in the second half.
