Friday, February 27, 2009 What's wrong with rewarding a team for a great season? While sitting in a mock selection room in Bristol, Conn., last Sunday, I recognized the contradiction that was constantly being forced down my throat. It's an age-old March argument and will no doubt arise frequently over the next couple of weeks. It goes something like this: Teams that we expect to be good get a pass for a tough start, and when they finally get it into gear, we erase their past and view them only in present form. The same ...
