RALEIGH, N.C. -- North Carolina State honored Kay Yow once more in the annual game that meant so much to its Hall of Fame coach. Shayla Fields scored 19 points Sunday to help the Wolfpack beat Virginia (No. 15 ESPN/USA Today, No. 17 AP) 60-54 in the emotional "Hoops 4 Hope" game, an event designed to raise money and awareness for the disease that ultimately took Yow's life.
