BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Lawrence Kinnard scored 22 points and Alabama-Birmingham beat Southern Methodist 78-75 on Saturday. The Blazers (17-8, 6-3 Conference USA) trailed 75-74 on a layup by SMU's Bamba Falls with 18 seconds left. Paul Delaney III put UAB ahead 76-75 with two free throws 10 seconds later.
