PATTAYA, Thailand -- Top-seeded Vera Zvonareva defeated Peng Shuai 6-2, 6-3 Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Pattaya Open. The fifth-ranked Zvonareva will play Shahar Peer, who defeated Vera Dushevina 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. Peer called Zvonareva "a fighter, patient and a good mover on the court."
