Not all flagrant fouls are created equal

Much has been made of Michigan players being ejected in two straight games for flagrant fouls on excessive swinging of elbows. Well, here is my judgment on the matter. First, the rule is clear -- if a player excessively swings his elbows and makes contact with a defender in a legal guarding position, it is a flagrant foul and automatic ejection.
