LEXINGTON, Va. -- Chavis Holmes scored 26 points, Keith Gabriel added 24 and Hunter Houston chipped in 20 to lead Virginia Military Institute over Southern Virginia 113-92 in an offensive shootout on Thursday night. There were two more VMI players in double-figure scoring, as Austin Kenon had 15 and Travis Holmes finished with 12. Chavis Holmes and Gabriel hit six 3-pointers apiece for the Keydets (17-3).
