Saturday, January 24, 2009 BOONE, N.C. -- Kellen Brand scored a career-high 31 points to lead Appalachian State to a 76-70 victory over Western Carolina on Saturday. Brand shot 10-for-13 from the field, including 5-for-7 from 3-point range, and went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Josh Hunter added 11 points for the Mountaineers (7-10, 4-5 Southern Conference), while Isaac Butts grabbed 11 rebounds.
