There's a picture of little Kay Yow with her parents. Dad is dressed in a sailor uniform; his oldest of four children, Kay, estimated she was about 6 years old then. That would have put it a few years after World War II. The framed photograph sits in her Raleigh, N.C., office with so much other history. Actually, it might continue to sit there for some time.
