Monday, January 19, 2009 CULLOWHEE, N.C. -- Jake Robinson scored 20 points and Greg Avery added 17 as Western Carolina defeated Georgia Southern 89-75 on Monday night. The Catamounts (9-7, 4-2 Southern Conference) led by as many as 11 points in the first half and 43-35 at the break. Western Carolina built a 69-49 advantage with 11:54 left on a Brigham Waginger 3-pointer. Georgia Southern (5-10, 3-4) cut the gap to 11 at 82-71, but could draw no closer.
