Saturday, January 17, 2009 WASHINGTON -- The season is barely half over, but it was hard not to picture the top two teams in the Eastern Conference meeting again in the playoffs. In a crisply played game, Alexander Semin's third-period goal gave the Washington Capitals a 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins on Saturday night. The Bruins began the day with the NHL's best record and finished it nine points ahead of Washington for the top mark in the East.
