Monday, January 12, 2009 LEXINGTON, Va. -- Chavis Holmes scored 24 points and Virginia Military Institute defeated Presbyterian 90-75 on Monday night. The win was the 10th straight for the Keydets (14-2, 6-0 Big South Conference) and marked the first time VMI began conference play 6-0 since the 1976-77 season. The game was tied at 16 with 11:53 to go in the first half, before VMI went on a 7-0 run spanning just less than 90 seconds for a 23-16 lead.
