Excalibur Down

A tower failure on Blackcomb Mountain's Excalibur Gondola yesterday caused a three-and-a-half hour emergency evacuation on this lift that carries skiers and snowboarders uphill from Whistler Village, B.C. At approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, Tower 4 on Excalibur's lower line suffered a partial collapse and ceased forward movement.
