Wednesday, December 10, 2008 Phillip Sims, a 6-2, 215-pound quarterback from Oscar Smith High (Chesapeake, Va.), has been selected as the ESPN RISE National Football Player of the Week. Sims completed 14 of 24 passes for 334 yards and six touchdowns in Oscar Smith's 54-24 win over Osbourn to give his team the Group AAA Division 6 state championship.
