CASSIE GANNIS DESERT VISTA -- AUTO RACING Gannis may someday have a future racing on tracks such as Daytona, Bristol and Talladega. The Desert Vista senior was one of 26 young drivers selected to participate in NASCAR's Drive for Diversity campaign, which emphasizes female and minority drivers in order to get them into the sport. Gannis, who has raced in the Super Late Model Series, has been racing cars since she was 10 years old.
