ESPN.com Thursday, October 23, 2008 The World Series started Wednesday night with a Phillies victory. This should be one of the more entertaining World Series given the great stories involving each team, including the fact that this now completes the AL East gauntlet for the Phillies in the World Series. They now have faced each of the five AL East teams in the Fall Classic. That stat amazes me, though I'm not sure why.
