No fine for Ward after hit left Rivers with broken jaw

Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward will not be fined for a block on Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Keith Rivers that left the rookie with a broken jaw, the NFL confirmed Tuesday. After watching replays, the league determined not to fine Ward, who was also not penalized by officials for the hit. Rivers was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, a day after having season-ending surgery to set his jaw.
