When you push open the massive mahogany door of Scott Fujita's warehouse-style loft in New Orleans, there's a Mardi Gras-style balcony up front and an exposed wall of burned-black bricks near the back. Yet despite how much Fujita says his Japanese heritage means to him, there's no Asian-influenced decor anywhere to be seen. Then he leads you around a corner to his den.
