VIENNA, Austria -- Top-seeded Stanislas Wawrinka was upset 6-7 (5), 6-2, 7-6 (5) on Tuesday by German qualifier Philipp Petzschner in the first round of the BA Tennis Trophy. Second-seeded Fernando Gonzalez rallied from a set down to beat Simone Bolelli 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-2, while Juergen Melzer fought off two set points before defeating two-time champion Ivan Ljubicic 7-6 (3), 6-3.
