I never saw Lyman Bostock play, in person or on television. We didn't have a television, and we rarely left the county in Vermont where we lived, let alone the state. What I knew of Bostock came from baseball cards -- a smile, and from my perspective as a 14-year-old, a whole lot of incredible numbers, especially for a player who was still relatively young.
