Tuesday, September 16, 2008 Something was missing from the sports calendar in Chicago this summer. For the first time in my life the PGA Tour didn't make a stop here. In 1962 the Western Open, the third oldest active golf tournament in the world after the Open Championship and the U.S. Open, permanently settled into the Chicago area. Since 1991 its home had been Dubsdread (Course No. 4 at Cog Hill in Lemont). That is of course until this summer. Last year the PGA Tour concocted a lame "playoff chase" called the FedEx Cup ...
