Saturday, September 13, 2008 Despite reports to the contrary, the European team will not retain the Ryder Cup simply by showing up at Valhalla this week. In the past few editions of the biennial competition, it has only seemed like that has been the case; in reality, the squad tallies points early and often, leaving a European victory as an inevitable conclusion.
