Titans mull Johnson, but go with Simms as backup QB

The Titans considered adding Doug Johnson to their quarterback depth chart this week to back up starter Kerry Collins, but instead will go with recently signed Chris Simms as the No. 2 quarterback against the Bengals, according to a source. Johnson's familiarity with the Titans' offense under offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger, piqued the team's interest but in the end they decided against adding the veteran quarterback.
