Petrova will face Tathiana Garbin of Italy, who defeated Melinda Czink of Hungary 6-2, 7-6 (3). Jill Craybas of the United States also advanced, upsetting eighth-seeded Aleksandra Wozniak of Canada 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
