When it comes to surf media, I've always kinda thought the national mags set the tone, but the regional mags are the lifeblood. Surfer, Surfing, and Transworld don't miss a trick (unless the trick is completed by someone outside the top 44 — easy, just kidding) but they also can't cover everyone's backyard.
