Defending champion Santoro advances to quarterfinals

NEWPORT, R.I. -- Defending champion Fabrice Santoro pulled out a first-set tiebreak and then cruised into the quarterfinals of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory over Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi on Thursday afternoon.
