Special to ESPN.com Thursday, July 3, 2008 Pirates closer Matt Capps has been shelved with bursitis in his shoulder, and the initial estimate is that the 24-year-old will miss two months. Capps has never posted the strikeout totals of a standard closer, but his incredible control (33 walks in 204 career innings) has made him one of the most reliable stoppers in the game. Because of his stellar track record, Capps likely won't lose the closer's job, even if a setback keeps him out longer than anticipated. The Pirates' short-term candidate ...
