Rockies place pitcher Francis on 15-day DL

DENVER -- Jeff Francis went on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday with shoulder inflammation, leaving the Colorado Rockies without their Opening Day starter. Francis felt soreness in his left shoulder during a bullpen session on Tuesday. He had an MRI on Wednesday, and the Rockies put him on the DL to let his arm rest.
